Musician and composer, Adrien Tyberghein's career is characterized by its eclecticism, its openness and its anchoring in modernity.

Adrien started playing music at the age of 6, he graduated from the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris and from the Royal Conservatory of Mons (BE). He also followed a jazz and improvised music training at the Didier Lockwood Center for Improvised Music (CMDL).

In addition, in the field of audio-visual arts, he completed a video and sound training at Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains.

He won several awards during his career as a musician (named “soloist rising star” in Belgium, “Young Talent of the Year”, ...

Adrien's insatiable curiosity leads him to explore a wide range of musical styles: baroque, romantic, contemporary, electronic, world and jazz music.

He has collaborated with renowned ensembles, institutions and Festivals (National Opera of Paris, Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles, Arties, Easter Festival, ...).

He has also played and collaborated with renowned artists, both in the classical sphere, jazz and current music (Manu Katché, Ibrahim Maalouf, Claire Désert, Olivier Charlier, ...).

These projects and encounters led him to find his way and to devote himself exclusively to the double bass soloist, chamberist, as well as to composition.

His innovative recitals mix classical music, world music, jazz, improvisation and work based on new technologies.
Each recital is a unique story and builds a bridge between tradition and modernity.

In 2020, Adrien writes, directs and composes “Seul Contre Basse”, a solo project on stage, transdisciplinary mixing music, theater, dance, video and installation.

That same year, he wrote his future solo recital and record "Odyssey", scheduled for the start of the 2021 school year.

You can currently find Adrien in various projects and in particular in Seul Contre Basse - Récital, in a duet recital with piano, with Dyad (Laloy - Tyberghein), in Water & Fire (Quentin Dujardin and Didier Laloy), in the Musiques ensemble News, Astoria or Izvora.

Spotted by Ibrahim Maalouf, a collaborative project should see the light of day in 2022.

Adrien also composes original soundtracks for various films and web channels.

He taught double bass and Specialized Methodology (applied pedagogy) at the Higher Institute of Music and Pedagogy of Namur (IMEP) and currently teaches at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental in Tourcoing.

ALONE AGAINST BASS - RECITAL

The first part of Seul Contre Basse is a staged concert, sometimes intimate and introspective, sometimes festive or even crazy. It combines classical and electronic music, amplified and acoustic music.

Seul Contre Basse - recital is constructed as a temporal and geographical journey that navigates through the compositions of Adrien Tyberghein (with a world premiere by Quentin Dujardin and Gwenaël Grisi).

It is anchored in the French and European heritage (tour of historic places rich in meaning such as abbeys, disused factories, ...) and goes to meet various landscapes, colors and cultures.

The double bass leaves its traditional playing and is transformed into a real orchestra led by loops and overlays controlled live by different loopers.
